About

The gap between AI’s promise and your P&L is execution.

Mid-market companies keep getting offered two bad options: strategy firms that leave a deck and a handshake, or software shops that build exactly what was asked — whether or not it was the right thing. Closing that gap takes one team that can find the opportunity, defend it commercially, and then ship it. That’s the firm we built.

Dave, founder of Velocity Labs

Dave

Founder & Principal

Twenty-five years operating and leading in service industries. Former CTO and VP of Machine Intelligence. MBA. He has sat on your side of this table — sponsoring technology that had to pay for itself inside a real budget year, and answering for it when it didn’t.

The AI work isn’t new, either. He led machine-intelligence teams shipping models into production years before the current wave — and he spends his working weeks today solving exactly the challenges this site describes: AI strategy, adoption, and build-out inside real organizations, from the first skeptical meeting to the system running in production. Those stories are anonymized here out of respect for the people in them.

Velocity Labs is that experience pointed at your business: skeptical of hype, serious about deployment, accountable to a number. We keep a deliberately low profile — full bio and references, gladly, in conversation.

Working remotely with companies everywhere.

How we build

AI-native, and open about it.

Every deliverable here — strategy, software, this website — is produced by senior judgment working directly with frontier AI systems. We say that plainly because it answers the question that actually matters: does this technology hold up in real production work? We bet our own delivery on it every day.

When we recommend a working pattern to your team, it’s one we use — not one we read about. And when we tell you what AI can’t do yet, that comes from the same place.

The name

Velocity is a vector.

Speed alone is just motion — velocity is speed with a direction. The strategy work names the direction. The build supplies the speed. The baseline tells you, honestly, whether you’re moving. That’s the whole firm in one word.
